Introduction
Rapid advances in ICT (i.e.
information and communication technology) have continued to drive
economic changes, restructure businesses, affect skill and
employment models, and contribute significantly to growth and wealth
creation. However, these developments are largely uneven as many
people in the world have been deprived of access to and use of
information. With a shared vision of overcoming the digital divide,
Firstlincoln Technologies presents a three days seminar where
relevant issues regarding ICT in Nigeria will be addressed.
What was Discussed
- Internet
fundamentals
Participants where able to learn the basic rudiment of internet,
how to use newsgroup, search engines, ftp sites and how to get
and download verities of software.
- Website
Designing & Hosting
This was the peak of the
seminar as most participant find this part more interesting as
they learn how to design website with HTML (Hyper Textual Markup
Language), FrontPage 2003, working with Macromedia Fireworks
website templates and more.
- Computer
Assembling / Hardware
These
was the first lesson of the seminar as it took almost half of
the handout, at the end of the session participants where able
to identify various internal and external parts of a computer.
They where also thought how to assemble computer system from
scratch.

E-Entrepreneur
These is the aspect of the seminar that the the students find
most interesting as they where shown ways by which they could
make a living from the internet.
